Kennedy Students Compete in Future Problem Solving
Students in grades 6 and 8 competed in the regional meet of Future Problem Solvers at St. Cloud State University. The topic for this meet was propaganda. Students spent the last month in school reading and researching this topic. The students use the FPS six-step process to determine an underlying problem and the best solution to solve it. This is a two-hour writing process. The afternoon is spent planning and presenting their action plan in the from of a skit. Kennedy students were awesome! In the junior division taking first place in the oral presentation was Sam B., Zane W., Paige C., Lydia P., and Emma G. Second place was Alex H., Jan-Rose D., Isabelle B., and Jared H. Third place included Micah J., Zach C., Logan S., Matt N., and Carter R. The eighth grade team took third place as well. Team members include Jack T., Caity P., Colby L., Taylor N., Liz W., and Cole T.
Teams moving on to state competition for their writing packet will be announced in a few weeks.
