Where Respect and Responsibility Lead the Pack!
Hour of Code
During the week of December 8 -12, Talahi participated in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a worldwide movement to include computer science into K-12 education. Every student was able to spend at least one hour "writing code" which is the foundation of programming a computer. As a STEM school, our Talahi staff felt that it was important for us to introduce our students to the skills of coding and computer programming in order to help prepare them to become college and career ready. These skills connect directly to many reading, science, and math standards. We would also like to thank our sponsors JAMF Nation Global Foundation, Meta 13, and Red Technologies. With their generous donations, we were able to provide a "Future Programmer" t-shirt for all students during the week of coding.

Talahi Receives 2014 Bookapalooza Grant!
Thanks to Grandpa John, who wrote a grant to the American Library Association, Talahi was one of three schools in the nation to receive the 2014 Bookapalooza grant! The books came in 27 huge boxes and contained approximately 1,350 books. All of the books are hardcover and were published in 2013 or 2014. The estimated value is over $24,000! How exciting for our staff and students.
