PAW Sponsored Packing Day!

Tuesday, June 2nd

Our dedicated Westwood teachers need our help!  Everything in the building must be packed with the exception of the classrooms in the 4th and 5th grade wing by June 5th as a result of the summer construction work that is being done at Westwood.

We are looking for parents and older students to help our teachers pack books, classroom supplies and anything else that needs to be boxed up.  If we all work together, we can get the job done  faster.  Come when you are available!  Even 1/2 hour would be great.  Please sign up if you are able to help because we would like to know the general number of people coming so we can supply pizza and pop for our volunteers.  Click here to sign-up!

District 742 is looking for people interested in Reading Corps

and Math Corps for the 2015-2016 school year.

Would you love to help children grow their reading or math skills, succeed in school and get extra support? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps. Whether you want to explore an educational career, reenter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can succeed as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps provided direct services to over 35,000 children in more than 700 schools across the state.

As a Literacy Tutor, you’ll use strategies that help students believe in themselves and succeed.  Positions available include: Preschool, Kindergarten Focus, and Elementary (K-3) Literacy Tutors. As a Math Tutor, you’ll help struggling 4th-8th grade students prepare for Algebra. We offer part time and full time options, and tutors typically serve most of their hours during the regular school day.  To apply or learn more about the research based programs, position qualifications, and benefits, visit MinnesotaReadingCorps.org or MinnesotaMathCorps.org. Questions? Contact recruitment@servemnaction.org or 866-859-282
