Welcome to Tech High School

Tech's Daily Student Announcements

Tech High School's 1st Annual Retro Run

We are looking to start another one of Tech's strong traditions. As most of us know, Homecoming is a week in the fall where students express their pride about being a student at Tech. It is also a chance for Tech's alumni to attend the Homecoming football game and embrace the pride they once had and hopefully still do. This year's Homecoming football game will take place on Friday October 10th. The following morning, Saturday Oct. 11th from 9am-2pm we are going to host a one mile "Retro-Run."  This is intended to be a fun family event that allows participants to run one mile around Lake George.  For Tech students and alumni this is also meant to be a reminising event.  Everyone is welcome to participate in the run. The registration fee for the run will be $20 before Oct 1st, $25 after or the day of.  Part of your registration fee will go towards a Retro-Run t-shirt and the remaining funds will go to support technology and other teaching and learning initiatives at Tech. We hope to have some food vendors and entertainment so please plan to participate and bring the whole family.

Register for the run at goo.gl/KXd4Eh or use the QR code.

Tech LRC Remodel Project

Starting next week, Monday April 28th, Tech will be closing the library portion of the LRC.  The following Monday May 5th, we will need to close the computer lab portion of the LRC as well.  If everything goes according to the very carefully planned summer schedule, we will have both areas reopened at the start of the 2014/2015 school year.

We regret that we will not be able to provide students with the opportunity to check out books and that computer usage will be drastically hindered for the remainder of the year but we will relocate our textbook circulation to the room that is now used for the Access program so that students can continue to use their textbooks and be able to check them back in at the end of the year.

The following document has been prepared by Ron Weiber of Central MN Resource Training and Solutions to address some of the concerns that parents and staff may have regarding the project.

Online Report Cards in Skyward for 2013-2014 School year

Several years ago District 742 started using Skyward.  One of the major reasons was to improve our communication with students and parents.  Our goal is to have student attendance, and progress as current as possible and available on the web.

With our on going efforts to reduce the roughly 2 million sheets of paper we print each year, we would like to attempt to make our end of term report cards available electronically.  Because our highest priority is communication about your student's progress here at Tech, we do not want to do anything to hinder this.  Currently, 30% of our students do not have an email listed for their primary parent or guardian. We can post the report card on the family access but we are unable to send it via email to those families.  We would like to encourage everyone to log into Skyward and verify or add your email.  Click here for directions.

If for what ever reason, this creates an inconvenience for you and you would prefer to continue to receive paper reports, please call 320-252-2231 or email techreportcards@isd742.org and let us know and we will continue to provide written reports to you.
